Chloë holds a BFA from Emily Carr University of Art + Design in Vancouver, British Columbia Canada and currently works as a visual and teaching artist in Portland, Oregon.
Growing up in the Columbia River Gorge, Chloë spent her childhood exploring white oak groves and the winding river’s edge. These immersive outdoor experiences are some of the most profound of her life and have taught her different ways of knowing and building a reciprocal relationship with place. In her work as a visual artist and educator, Chloë explores stories of place through process and the act of making by hand. She practices a variety of techniques such as textile weaving, plant dyeing, basketry, and paper making.
Chloë’s work is deeply influenced and inspired by her mentors, teachers, and community, including EartHand Gleaner’s Society, Rewild Portland, Wildcraft Studio School, Arts in Education of the Gorge, Young Audiences, The Right Brain Initiative, and many more.
